Anthony, Zach, Derek, Dan & Ted’s Ride
Ted Berg and his friends Anthony, Zach, Derek and Dan are off on an incredible adventure riding for 3 months across the southern tip of south america. Ted is a great guy, a former Americorps volunteer and now a highly valued employee at Healthcare for the Homeless Program (where my wife Carole is director of the HIV program). Ted is a bicycle hard-core guy having spent many years working in bike stores and as someone who lives on almost nothing and rides his bike everywhere. I am blogging about him because he epitomizes the “just suck it up and do it” attitude I really admire and try to live up to. He doesn’t have any (visible) disabilities but then we all have something that tends to hold us back don’t we? He fights against that and takes on pretty daunting challenges. The group of guys is pretty broke and want to update their blog from cell phones using sim cards they will have to purchase as they go. So I contributed to their cause in a small way. If you visit their site you can track this really cool trip and if you feel like it make a contribution so they won’t starve.
