Dear jothy

What follows is an amazing letter from a 4th grader in a class to which recently spoke. It is incredible and speaks for itself.

Dear jothy,

Thank you for coming to our school. I really think that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. I know how you felt back then when people doubted and made fun of you. Because when I was little I was overweight and I still kind of am. People kept on calling me fat. Sometimes they would call me names like chubby. But I ignored it. And I loved to play sports like baseball or basketball. People told me I couldn’t do that because I was fat, and that I was a girl. Some people said I couldn’t do anything because I was black. And I got sick of it. So I started riding my bike, to play sports, to going to the gym to work out. And I proved those people wrong. And because of you I know that as long as I put my mind to it, I can do anything.
